The new year is finally upon us. Goodness knows the last two years have been rougher than usual. Here’s hoping for a better 2023 and beyond. With that in mind, we would like to encourage all Beehive Farmacy customers to make New Year’s Resolutions to be better medical cannabis patients in 2023.
We are still learning how medical cannabis can be best utilized to treat qualifying medical conditions. No doubt we have a lot to learn. So if you are willing to make the following three medical cannabis New Year’s resolutions, we think you will be pleased with the results by this time next year.
Resolution #1: Improve Your Tracking
Medical providers, cannabis pharmacies, and patient advocates alike encourage patients to track medical cannabis consumption. Tracking is a valuable tool that helps you, your doctor, and your medical cannabis pharmacist. It provides important data that is instrumental to making good decisions.
If you are already tracking, commit to doing it more regularly and accurately in 2023. If you are not yet tracking your use, 2023 is as good a time as any to start. Here is what to you should track:
- The products you use
- Every instance of consumption
- The amount consumed and the delivery method
- How it made you feel (both short- and long-term)
- Any concerns you may have about that particular product.
Getting this information to your pharmacist will help them better advise you on the products to buy and how to use them. That should mean more relief from your particular condition.
Resolution #2: Stay Abreast of Research
Research into medical cannabis hasn’t been particularly overwhelming in recent years. But thanks to a bill just signed into law by President Biden, medical cannabis research should really take off in 2023. You can be a better medical cannabis patient by staying abreast of that research.
Become a voracious consumer of medical cannabis news. Find some good websites that update their stories daily. And wherever you see stories about research, be sure to dig in and learn. You can never go wrong with too much information.
As a side note, be sure to keep an open mind about everything you read. Not all the research is going to show medical cannabis in a favorable light. That is to be expected. No medical therapy is 100% perfect. So be ready to take the bad news with the good.
Resolution #3: Ask More Questions
Have you ever heard the old idiom that says there is no such thing as a stupid question? It is absolutely true in the medical cannabis space. Medical cannabis is still relatively new in Utah, as compared to states like Oregon. So patients here continue to have questions in need of answers. Do not be afraid to ask them.
When you visit the Beehive Farmacy in either Salt Lake City or Brigham City, bring your questions with you. Our pharmacy staff will be more than happy to provide the answers we have. If we cannot answer your question then and there, we’ll do our best to find the answer. The same goes for our staff pharmacist. Never be afraid to ask questions during your pharmacist consultations.
Finally, chances are you will be paying your medical provider a visit to have your car renewed. Ask them questions, too. Asking questions improves your knowledge and encourages your medical provider to learn more. That’s always good.
Here’s hoping 2023 is a much better year for medical cannabis and that your New Year’s Resolutions improve your medical cannabis journey. The more we learn about this amazing plant, the more we realize it probably has potential benefits we have yet to learn about.
